Classical Greek is the perfect window to understanding English. Greek grammar was the historical starting point for how we describe the English language today. The dialect of Greek you will be learning is called Attic Greek. This is the dialect of Plato and Xenophon and many other famous Greeks. It is also the best jumping point to read Homeric Greek (read the Epics) and Koine (read the New Testament). The grammar is complex, so be prepared to put some more effort into this than you would other languages. But I will make myself available almost 24/7 to help via phone or e-mail to help in any way I can. It's one of my favorite languages!
